Arula Heels – Handcrafted Luxury Pumps & Stilettos
Our signature Arula heels represent decades of Italian shoemaking tradition brought into a modern wardrobe. Each pair begins with full-grain leather sourced from Tuscan tanneries, cut by hand and built on anatomical lasts that mirror the natural contour of your foot. We balance a 3.5-inch stiletto with a cushioned footbed and reinforced arch support, so you move through your day without the ache most dress pumps leave behind.
Whether you’re heading to a meeting, dinner, or a weekend gallery opening, Arula heels bridge formal polish and real-world wearability. The pointed toe elongates your silhouette, the leather sole flexes with each step, and the hand-stitched welt construction means these shoes can be resoled season after season—an investment that only gets better with time.

What the numbers mean
Every pair of Arula heels starts with hides chosen for grain tightness and natural oils that resist scuffs. We send leather specs to the same Tuscan tannery our founder visited in 2008, where vegetable tanning takes forty-five days and produces a suppleness you can feel the moment you slip the shoe on.
The upper is cut by a pattern-maker who’s been with us since launch, then hand-stitched to a leather insole board using linen thread. A thin layer of memory foam sits beneath the footbed, channeling pressure away from the ball of your foot. The steel shank embedded in the heel provides lateral stability without adding weight, and the covered stiletto tapers to a rubber-tipped point that grips tile, wood, and polished concrete equally well.
Arula heels run true to US whole and half sizes from 5 through 11. If you typically wear a European 38, order our 38—no conversion guesswork. The pointed toe box is designed with a roomier interior than it appears; your toes rest flat rather than bunching forward, a trick of the anatomical last we developed over two years of fit testing.
We recommend ordering your usual size. If you’re between sizes or have a wider forefoot, go up a half size. The leather will mold to your foot over the first few wears, forming custom contours around your arch and instep. For very narrow feet, consider adding a heel grip or forefoot pad—most department-store inserts work without crowding the toe box.
Wipe your Arula heels with a soft, dry cloth after each wear to lift surface dust before it settles into the grain. Once a month, apply a thin coat of neutral leather cream—we like brands that use beeswax and lanolin—and buff gently with a horsehair brush. This routine keeps the leather hydrated and prevents the fine creases that develop around the vamp from deepening into cracks.
Avoid wearing the same pair two days in a row. Leather needs twelve hours to release moisture absorbed from your foot, and inserting cedar shoe trees immediately after you take them off pulls humidity out faster while helping the upper hold its shape. If you get caught in the rain, stuff the shoes with newspaper, let them dry at room temperature away from direct heat, and condition them the next day.

Styling & versatility
Arula heels pair equally well with tailored trousers and a silk blouse for the office or a midi dress for evening events. The clean lines and neutral palette—black, cognac, and navy are our core colors—mean they disappear into your outfit rather than competing for attention. That restraint is intentional; we want the craftsmanship to be the statement, not loud hardware or trendy details that date quickly.
For travel, pack them in a dust bag and tuck socks or a scarf inside to maintain the toe shape. The covered heel won’t snag fabric in your suitcase, and the leather sole is light enough that a pair adds less than a pound to your luggage. Many of our customers wear Arula heels on long-haul flights, changing into them before landing so they step off the plane ready for meetings or dinners without needing a shoe swap.

What the crews say

Questions about Arula heels?
Yes, our heels run true to US sizing. If you normally wear a size 8, order an 8. The pointed toe box has a roomier interior than it appears, so your toes rest flat rather than bunching forward. If you’re between sizes or have a wider forefoot, we recommend going up a half size. The leather will mold to your foot over the first few wears, creating custom contours around your arch and instep.
With proper care and occasional resoling, our heels can last eight years or more. We use Goodyear welt construction, which means any cobbler can replace the sole when it wears down without compromising the upper. Many customers report going through two or three resoles and still wearing the same pair regularly. Conditioning the leather monthly and using shoe trees between wears will extend their life significantly.
Yes. We designed Arula heels with a cushioned memory-foam footbed and reinforced arch support specifically for all-day wear. The anatomical last mirrors the natural shape of your foot, distributing pressure evenly across the sole. Most customers report wearing them through eight-hour workdays, evening events, and travel without the ache typical dress pumps cause. There is a short break-in period of fifteen to twenty hours, after which the leather softens and conforms to your unique foot shape.
Our signature Arula heels feature a 3.5-inch covered stiletto. The height gives you a polished silhouette while remaining walkable for extended periods. The reinforced steel shank embedded in the heel provides lateral stability without adding weight, and the cushioned footbed helps offset the forward pitch. If you prefer a lower heel, our block heel pumps offer a two-inch stacked heel, and our kitten heels measure 1.5 inches.
Wipe your heels with a soft, dry cloth after each wear to remove surface dust. Once a month, apply a thin coat of neutral leather cream containing beeswax or lanolin, then buff gently with a horsehair brush. Avoid wearing the same pair two days in a row; insert cedar shoe trees immediately after removing them to pull out moisture and maintain shape. If they get wet, stuff with newspaper and let them dry at room temperature away from direct heat, then condition the next day.
We offer half sizes from US 5 through 11. Currently we do not produce a dedicated wide-width version, but the anatomical last and soft Italian leather accommodate most foot shapes comfortably. If you have a wider forefoot, order a half size up—the leather will stretch slightly over the first few wears. For very narrow feet, consider adding a heel grip or forefoot pad to fine-tune the fit.
Every pair is handcrafted in Florence, Italy, by artisans trained in traditional shoemaking techniques. We source full-grain leather from Tuscan tanneries that use vegetable tanning processes lasting forty-five days. The uppers are hand-cut and stitched using linen thread, and the Goodyear welt construction is completed entirely by hand. This slow, meticulous process ensures each pair meets our standards for durability and comfort.
